This Christmas we wanted to spread the joy of the season to people all around Regina. We are a company that believes in giving back to the community and want to set an example for the younger generations to come.
This Christmas season we chose to go shopping for all of the children currently residing at SOFIA House . This facility is amazing! It was the first ever second stage housing facility in Saskatchewan and first opened in 1988 after a group of extremely dedicated volunteers worked towards their goal and made it happen. Through education, research and fundraising efforts this group was able to open four suites to help families adapt to a life free of violence. Now, 29 years later the facility consists of 10 furnished apartments equipped with everyday essentials.
It is important to us to help where we can throughout the entire year, but especially during the holidays. To see the children’s eye’s light up around the glow of a Christmas tree, surrounded by family and friends is one of the greatest joys. We understand that the holidays are not always happy for everyone and hope that these gifts will help brighten a child’s Christmas morning. We know we were pretty darn excited to drop them all off!
SOFIA House will continue to accept donations heading into 2017. If you are able to give please do. It takes a community to raise a child and every little bit helps.
